Summer in the Torridon Munros! nineonesix-guiding has a high success rate here because of local knowledge and a team of experienced leaders. The Torridon triptych of Liathach, Beinn Eighe and Beinn Alligin are possible in a long weekend visit. Alternatively, book on a five day course and take things a little more easily. Classic ‘coffee-table book’ routes or a more challenging scramble – the choice of dates and route is yours.
Winter – At nineonesix-guiding we use a variety of venues to take full advantage of Scottish winter conditions; as well as Torridon we may go to Kintail, Lochaber or The Cairngorms. The nineonesix-guiding team can provide the following: winter skills, winter mountaineering, learn to lead winter climbing – if you already have some experience of winter mountaineering and/or multi-pitch rock climbing nineonesix-guiding can help you make the transition to leading winter routes of your own.
Whether you would like to ride away from the trail centres for the first time, need some coaching on particular skills, or want to tackle one of the famous Torridon Loops nineonesix-guiding have the experience and local knowledge to get you there.
The Northern Pinnacles of Liathach; Ledge Route; Castle Ridge, Curved Ridge and the Aonach Eagach…The list goes on and on before we even start picking out the quiet little jewels of scrambles in Wester Ross! With one of our Mountaineering Instructors you will be shown the basic personal equipment and techniques to safely make the exciting transition from hill walker to mountaineer.
Introduction to Ski Touring Want to leave those pistes behind and explore the mountains. Learn the key elements of ski touring such as use of skins and avalanche awareness. Aiming for you to leave the course with enough confidence to have a go yourself. Prerequisite A sense of humour, keen to learn, experience off piste skiing and able to ski blue runs making short radius turns with confidence.
From Torridon we are perfectly placed to sample the widest range of rock climbing anywhere in the UK. Climbing in the north west of Scotland ranges from single pitch trad and sport crags, to long mountain routes and sea stack adventures, Gabbro to Gneiss, Sandstone to Quartzite.
